A future phase of Edinburgh Parks development will include David Mach's sculptural building 'Mach1',  which has the intention, according to the artist to “make people smile, they’ll grin when they see it.

I always say when I make art, ‘I want people to laugh and to smile and to start crying because you’re emotionally pushed over the edge, I want you to reach into your pocket and throw money at me, I want you to applaud and I want you to run away screaming!’ That’s the kind of reaction I want.
