The new Edinburgh Park Run Club will begin on Wednesday, 25 September 2024 and will go ahead every Wednesday thereafter. The runners should meet outside Patina Bakery in Edinburgh Park (1 New Park Square) between 07:20 and 07:30 to set off at 07:30 sharp. The run ends back at Patina at approximately 08:00, allowing anyone who wishes the chance to share a coffee/pastry together before heading off to work and starting the day feeling refreshed.
The run club will be held once per week initially with potential for more days to be introduced in the near future.
The main priority of the run group will be to have fun and enjoy running for what it brings to our everyday life’s. The run will be at a very relaxed conversational pace done as one group so that no one gets lost on the route, and will be around 4-5km in distance. The run club is open to people of all ages and abilities and is all-inclusive in every sense. It gives anyone the chance to get their fitness in, in the mornings, with a group of like-minded people, while reducing stress and exploring the surroundings of Edinburgh Park.
The first session run by the club will be completely free of charge (25th September), then a small £2 per person fee each week thereafter (this can be paid cash or via the payment link).
The run club has been arranged and set up by Mark Baxter, a qualified running coach. The fee goes toward the costs of public liability insurance (which everyone will be covered under during the run club).
Mark will also create a whatsapp group chat for any updates, or to know if anyone is running slightly late. For further information please email Mark - onyourmarksrunningcoaching@gmail.com.
